De 26-jarige Vanmechelen speelde sinds de zomer van 2022 voor Club YLA. De Limburgse startte haar carrière op het hoogste niveau bij Standard Fémina en kwam daarna ook uit voor KRC Genk, PSG, Twente en opnieuw Standard.


Vanmechelen speelde al 50 keer voor de Red Flames en scoorde daarin tien doelpunten. Haar laatste interland dateert wel van oktober 2022.
