Doncic maakte afgelopen februari de overstap van Dallas Mavericks naar LA Lakers in een veelbesproken ruildeal met NBA-ster Anthony Davis. Veel potten kon de 26-jarige Sloveense forward guard in Los Angeles, aan de zijde van LeBron James en Kyrie Irving, nog niet breken. Hij liet redelijke cijfers optekenen in de reguliere competitie, maar in de NBA Finals strandde hij met de Lakers al in de eerste ronde, na een nederlaag tegen de Minnesota Timberwolves.


Doncic speelde sinds 2018 voor Dallas Mavericks. In 2024 leidde hij de ploeg naar de NBA Finals. Hij deed al vier keer mee aan de All-Star Game.
